I have a new rabbit, and its bottom teeth are crooked. one of it’s teeth will stick out of it’s mouth when it grows longer. I know rabbit’s teeth can be trimmed. What should I do? Are you able to trim it’s tooth down?
Thank you for your email. Some rabbits have teeth that simply require more upkeep than others. It is caused by genetics and there really isn’t anything you can do about it except for keeping them trimmed on a regular basis. If we have never seen this new rabbit here at the hospital, we would have to first do an exotic animal exam, which is $42. The price for the actual teeth trimming depends on how bad the teeth are and we can tell you the price when the exam is done. After we do the initial exam, we can do just the teeth trims every visit after your first one without charging an office call fee. If you would like to schedule an appointment, please call my staff at the hopsital, our number is (801) 224-2233.
Thank you for your time and we hope to see you soon! -Dr. Dobson-
